Imaginable Teaser #3 - J. Meyers

Sera raised her hands. She did not want to touch this guy. Not at all.

“Aren’t you even going to ask my name, Princess?”

She felt heat rise in her core. But she damped it down as best she could. She had to get this done quickly. There were still so many to go before they’d let her heal Quinn.
“I don’t need to know your name,” she said through clenched teeth.

He leaned toward her again, that smile still on his face. “Ah, but don’t you want to know it?”

She let her arms drop. “Not particularly, no.”

“Oh come now,” he said, his voice low. “You don’t have to play hard to get with me. I heard your heart speed up when I touched you earlier.”

“That’s called fear, you moron,” she said. “Now are you ready or what?”

He laughed and then closed his eyes, nodded his head with that stupid smile still on his lips. What she wouldn’t give to knock it right off his face. Or dust him.

And she could hardly believe she was thinking like that.

Sera tried to clear her mind and pretend that he was just another person asking for help. She fingered her necklace then placed one hand on his forehead and one on his chest. Taking a deep breath, she tried to center herself.

“Sean,” he said. “My name’s Sean. Not moron.”

“I’m pretty sure I got it right the first time,” Sera muttered.

“Oh, I like you, Princess,” he said, laughing. “I could get used to you.”

March news from Berinn Rae

Whew, what a busy start to 2013! Explosion, the final book in the Colliding Worlds trilogy, is now on my editor's desk at Crimson Romance. Implosion (book 2) comes out March 11 as ebook everywhere. I also have a short (dystopian sci-fi rom) in an upcoming anthology showcasing a wide range of fabulous sci-fi romance authors out there. A release date hasn't been set yet, but I'll keep you posted. Next up, I'm going to write a full-length zombie novel simply because I love zombie thrillers and finally accepted the fact that I must take the time to write at least one myself. Its working title is Zombie Playground, and it will be my first book without romance. The story is still being fleshed out (lame pun intended, heh heh), and I'll keep you posted. If you favorite zombie books to share, I'd love to add to my to-be-read pile, so let me know your favorites via Twitter (@BerinnRae) or Facebook!  Have a great month!

Amazon 'Beautiful Disaster' emails - Jamie McGuire

This is straight from Jamie's website:

I have looked into this as best I can, but being a Sunday, Amazon isn’t responding.

It appears that Amazon has sent a mass email to everyone who’s ever purchased the self-published version of Beautiful Disaster. They are encouraging readers to request a refund. When asked why they are offering this refund, Amazon customer service has given several different reasons, the most common is problems with content. THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CONTENT OF BEAUTIFUL DISASTER, and it makes no sense for them to encourage a refund for a book that has already been read and enjoyed 6+ months later, but that is the only information I have for now.

Customer service admits that if you do NOT get the refund, your copy of BD will NOT be affected. If you get a refund, they are offering to reimburse the $4+ difference it costs to purchase the $7.99 version, but what they aren’t telling you is that **I** am paying for every refund.

Last week, I sent an email to Amazon asking why the self-published version of my book is still experiencing returns. Returns are only allowed for up to 7 days after purchase. 6 months after the self-published version of Beautiful Disaster went off-sale my account was still seeing negative amounts for returns. I’m not going to assume the reasons behind this mass email, but it appears that Amazon customer service is now encouraging these returns.

I was not notified of this. This email has nothing to do with my publisher Atria books. If you do not get a refund, your copy of BD will not be affected. If you do, the refund will show as a negative amount in my Amazon KDP author account. Because BD is no longer available, this money will be taken out of my Providence sales.

In other words, this is very bad, and I have no idea why this is happening. Please do not return your copy of BD, and please help me spread the word to not return your copy of BD.

I will let you know what else I find out from Amazon. In the meantime, your support has brought me to tears. I love you all. ♥
