I'm so excited to tell you about my super secret project. I've been
tossing this idea around since early 2012 and have finally made some
time to make them a reality!
I've always been a fan of fairy tales, as well as all things funny. Grimmdale High is a marriage of both of those things. I'm approaching this series differently than my novels.
Grimmdale High will start off with two short episodes, short stories of about 10,000 words (40-50 pages, give or take). I'm hoping to release Snow White vs. Rose Red, which will be the first episode in the series, as well as Fairest of Them All, the second in the series, in December, before Christmas.
Ideally, I'll put out another episode in January, then February, and the final one in March. After the final episode, I'll bundle the series together into a complete volume. If the idea is popular and readers really like it, then I'll look into doing a second round of them. I'm sort of thinking of these in terms of half-hour sitcoms. If I had to explain the genre to you, it would be a mash up of the TV shows Once Upon a Time and Suburgatory.
On the two covers, you get to meet the star of the Grimmdale High series, Bianca von Schweinhausen, or Snow White as her mother calls her. The blond is Rosie von Schweinhausen, Bianca's older sister. To say they dislike each other is an understatement.
I'll have full blurbs for them in November, so keep an eye out!
I've also got another idea of shorts in the works on the schedule for the spring, after this and New Blood, my next novel, are completed.
